RSL's SHINOBI: Widescreen Patch - No Honour or Humanity

Post by LossForWords »

A few days ago, i found this mod, from the good ol' early-GZDoom days.
Loved the weapons, and the overall SW feel/theme.
However, there was one problem:
The idgames description wrote:Bugs: Widescreen modes are not supported. Sorry.
Well, after some work, not anymore.

Grab Shinobi here:
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/combos/rslshino

Grab the patch here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11MW5H8 ... sp=sharing

To run it either drag and drop both files, or replace the rslshpng.wad inside the pk3.

Hey! It's been a long time since I did roam the forums last time, and here's a nice surprise...

Just tried this, and it really seems a good job to me!
Would you mind if I - providing you appropriate credit - should include this as part of the original modification? :D

Just let me know!

P.S. Did you happen to try the upgrade? [rslshuno.pk3]

Good ol' shinobi... Glad to see this mod once again! Tho the sprites are looking JPG-esq as usual, but still looks good in widescreen-friendly edit!

Speak of the devil... You're here! The creator of awesome mods like Shinobi. I absolutely liked your highly detailed, challenging and creative mods back in the ol' days. I hope you're doing fine and get back on doom modding, if you could!

Thanks for the kind words. I miss the past years, when I could dedicate myself more to work on the modifications, together with my friend Chronoteeth - I still remember all the nice guys that helped me along the way.

In the meantime, I never stopped enjoying the game. And while I was a bit afraid of level design in the past, if I manage to get some decent time together again for DOOM, I might eventually try my hand at creating a few levels...
