Alright so I played howe's first submitted map and I gotta say it's pretty good. Simple, but good. The flow was right, I didn't get lost, ammo was enough, and the encounters were fun. Secrets were a little obvious I think, but it's not that much of a problem. I'd say this map definitely goes in a "tech hell" slot. Looks like it's good to go. Will wait for you to finalize it before I put it in the dev build.

What mutator does the first map have anyway?

@Rifleman Thanks, brother! I need to rework the keys and doors a lil. I actually really like
that you can skip a bit if you explore. Of course, it's a liiil bit tougher with the current
enemies, lol. I appreciate you giving it a run! :D

@Accensus Thanks to you as well, brother! Still getting better at secrets, but I'm glad the
flow is working. That's most important to me. I think the mutator was "one colour",
supposed to be mostly warm colours, but I should tweak the lighting more.

I also whipped up a level set in a canyon last night. Going to give it a couple more days to
boil, but I might be able to get 4 maps done by the deadline? haha We'll see! Stay safe,
my dudes!

down before I worry about too much detail, etc. The monsters and items are just
placeholders.
I see your point. But everybody has their own way of doing things.
However, it has become clear to me that a lot of map geometry that other people find good,
is often not something I find particular appealing.

Also, the whole linear "flow" is boring, I like maps that lets players complete the map in various sequences, like the aztek map... you can fetch the 3 keys in any order you like

my plan for the city map:
add a script that require the player to find 3 keys and use them to power on 3 generators to power the teleporter
different monsters and monster placement

my plan for the aztek map:
different monsters and monster placement

I may or may not post new versions of those maps (city and aztek),
but its not a particular high priority for me at this time
and they may or may not be done when I fell like completing them.

I have not been working on those maps since the last versions I posted.

@howeartistic: Do you have any updates planned for your map(s)? If not, feel free to do the write-up and re-send the map(s) so I can add it to the list.

For the most part, yeah. Not much going on this time around, sadly. Waiting for the deadline in a few days so we can start finalizing things.

Alright, deadline's here. Thank you all for participating. I'll give it a few days to do bugfixing and wrap it up. Still no exact release date, but ETA is around the end of this month.

Despite there being less turnout for this CP, I'm still looking forward to playing through it! 20 Monsters was a great experience and I think this too will be a lot of fun. Thanks for hosting the sequel, that nobody expected!

Awesomesauce!

Well done for getting this far!
Apologies for not having attended this chapter, been exceptionally busy this year with... many issues.

Will have a full playthrough of this at some point and record my thoughts, but noticed for now you are lacking a titlescreen.

Can offer services whipping summint up if no one else is available :D

Thank you! And no worries, this year has been wack for all of us, so I understand.

That'd be awesome! I tried making a titlescreen but after spending half a day trying to think of something cool I just gave up, lol. Tell you what, I'll let you know if/when there is a planned 1.1 release so you can whip up a titlescreen for it if you have the time. Hold on for now just in case there ends up being no release anytime soon.

I've played through the first 5 maps and have really enjoyed this so far. I'm glad to see it in it's completed form. As much as I loved the 20 monsters community project, this actually feels more like a serious project because of the extended bestiary. From what I've seen of it so far, it's really solid. The OTEX inclusion was a good idea too for the record. Great job to everyone that contributed to this.
