First of all, ask nicely please.

Second, there's a thread for Ugly as Sin where issues can be reported. It should be used.

Third, I just tested and the latest stable releases seem to work fine, so either let me know what's not working after you update whatever old version you're using, or use the master builds which definitely work.

Really wish there was a way to disable frag shards entirely... kind of ruins the experience when playing on a lower difficulty; you may as well keep the game on a higher difficulty because monsters can respawn no matter what

Either carry a chainsaw to keep the enemies down for longer, or don't shoot barrels.

You can also just download Ugly as Sin, it has an option for frag-shard reduction.

This was exactly what I was looking for actually. Thanks, I didn't know this existed.

*EDIT* You can actually completely disable the shards with this mod if you like instead of just reducing them.

HERP tool with broken herp crashes game

Post by Djames516 »

I don't know if this has already been reported.

>Relevant steps which lead to the crash

1. Entered the level with 1 working HERP and 1 broken HERP
2. Try to deploy BROKEN herp
3. HERP: :(
4. Drop BROKEN herp
5. Deploy WORKING herp
6. Destroy WORKING herp with shotgun
7. Attempt to use HERP remote tool thing
8. Crash

Last time, an enemy broke the HERP. But I failed to grab a console screen, so I recreated it.
I think the bug is that if your HERP breaks and you try to use the HERP remote tool the game crashes.

Anyway, it's not a huge deal, just don't use the tool on a broken HERP, but I thought I'd let you know.

Also, There's some glitch with the backpack where if you try to put an item on the field in and your backpack is full, you can't even interact with that item anymore. I'll try to recreate it.

Try using the master commits for the next week or so, I hope to put out a release once the player gib sprites are done.

This NEW UPDATE! should finally end all these repeat HERP camera crash reports.

Download size is a bit bigger as it includes an entire set of crouching sprites for Freedoom.

Note the new hd_bracesensitivity setting and the reduced mag capacity of the "civvie" Hunter.

Hi, first time posting, so bear with me.

I ran into a small bug while playing the most recent update with Ugly as Sin and Diabolous Ex. I took a burst from a chaingunner while clearing out the office past the first elevator and ended up embedded into the ground with flashing blood spatter icons and slowly moving backwards automatically and unable to get up.
YOLO mode is disabled since I'm playing solo.

I can't provide a screenshot, unfortunately, I accidentally closed the game window (I like to play Doom in windowed mode to save an alt-tab).

There's a possibility that you're in incapacitation mode. Have you tried healing your wounds (in incap, primary fire does bandages with the secondary either pulling out a stimpack or a grenade), waiting a bit until your conditions improved, and then jumping up?

I didn't. The next time it happens I'll try it out.
I guess I was so surprised it happened that I didn't bother waiting long enough. Especially after reopening the game and straight up dying a couple times.

Yup, confirmed incapacitation state and blaze of glory'd with a grenade during an E1M2 run because I knew the last shotgunner in the soulsphere secret would just blast me the moment I get back up.
Pretty neat and also a little frustrating when on solo.

Also noticed a friendly Marine one handing an smg or full auto pistol, nice detail!

That's part of Ugly as Sin, so thank you! I made a module that dynamically replaces marine / tango sprites depending on what weapon they're using. Glad you like it!

I just found 26 rounds of .355 ammunition. I have no idea what uses .355 ammo. Is this a secret?!

.355 revolver will be fully available in the next release (and is pretty much fully functional in master, just needs proper sight picture code)
