Meh, it's just a craze. It will pass. I get that there is something quite satisfying in their action but they really don't do much. So, they're pretty dull and, as a result, I expect the craze to disappear more quickly than other similar crazes. I hope they do because, as a teacher, every other kid in class getting one out and spinning it like it was something amazing gets old pretty quickly. Yeah, I get it, you have a little, well balanced thingamajig in your pocket that spins in a mildly entertaining way. Big w00p. At least Rubik's cubes, Tamagotchis and even those little finger boards could do
something. And, of course, kids tend to have the cheaper, crappier made ones that are, consequently noisier.
As far as I know there is no evidence to support them helping people with ADHD. Despite that, that's the first argument that kids throw back at you.
"Put that away please, it's annoying."
"Yeah, but they help people with ADHD."
"No they don't and, BTW, I know that you don't have ADHD anyway."
