Re: Raze 1.3.0 released

If you have a save of that occurring, that'd be great to check out and see what's gone wrong there. Here it is! save0000.dsave I wonder if this is actually an original SW bug and not Raze-specific. I'm using the Vulkan renderer and didn't install the CD-ROM music yet; I'm also attaching my INI in ...

Re: Raze 1.3.0 released

Good fixes! I tested out Shadow Warrior and noticed a bug in the first level of the shareware episode: The invisible ninja's firebomb trails stuck on a door frame near the end of the level (to be precise, the right hallway of the two locked passages to Platform 45 where the train is first found ...

Re: Hi, I'm new to mapping, any tips?

I'm not an expert, but I finally tried some basic mapping in DOOM recently. First, I wanted to answer my own questions: "how important is compatibility to me?" and "how many features am I going to use, and do they make it easier or harder to map?" so that I didn't invest lots of time in things that ...

Questions about polygonal slope precision and setup in UDB

I'm trying to learn Ultimate Doom Builder's slope tools (in UDMF) and have made some interesting shapes already. However a simple dome still eludes me - I have managed to make shapes more complicated than domes. I'm not sure how the best way to go about that is - i.e., vertex or sidedef selection ...

Re: Ultimate Doom Builder

Update: Rolled back to R3822, bound Ctrl+U to Arch Between Slope Handles and Alt+U to Toggle Visual Sidedef Slope Picking and the feature works as I expect now (at least when I do things the way I'm supposed to; I haven't tried to duplicate my crash bug from earlier) and I successfully built an arch.

Re: Ultimate Doom Builder

[Edited a handful of times for readability, sorry...] I have two problems right now on the latest version R3828. The first is a crash bug. The second is that UDB isn't reacting to my Alt+U shortcut to bring up visual slope mode, no matter whether it's bound to vertex or linedef slopes. The bindings ...

Re: GZDooM Runs at Standstill Pace After Win 10 Update

I'm a bit late to this thread, but if you need to stop Windows from automatically installing drivers from Windows Update, "Display Driver Uninstaller" software from Wagnardsoft has a box to tick for that. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=5

Re: Benchmark Tests - August 2021

Submission 4: "benchmarks-frauds-g2s-8600m-gt" benches an Asus G2S-B2 gaming laptop manufactured November 2007. Its main features are a T7700 Core 2 Duo CPU, 3GB DDR2 RAM, and 256MB nVidia Geforce 8600M GT, a DirectX 10 / OpenGL 3.3 GPU. The GPU is a G80, notorious for hardware failures, but this ...

Re: Benchmark Tests - August 2021

I am celebrating the magical appearance of a new graphics card today by benching my old hardware, a Ryzen 7 3700x / GTX 960 2GB. Vulkan seems to struggle a bit on my current GPU in some cases, like Hunter's Moon 3.6, which can slow down the framerate to 40+ fps with its big blood decals on my ...

Crash after closing console whilst benching

Steps to reproduce: - Extract fresh copy of "gzdoom-4-6-1-Windows-64bit.zip" to its own folder, paste in DOOM.WAD (The Ultimate DOOM 1.9) or some other IWAD, start the program. - Enter console, type BENCH, close console (via tilde~ or ESC keys), and wait a moment. GZDOOM will crash and the crash ...
