Custom 3D glasses support.
Within the past few years I've found me a type of anaglyph 3D glasses that give the best colors I've seen out of anaglyph so far. They are called "Trioviz Inficolor". They have lenses that seem to be more lightly tinted than the typical magenta and green 3D glasses. http://i.imgur.com/Y03OASK.png ...

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (Version 2.0)
This is my favorite way to play Wolf3D! There's one minor problem though. In surround sound the door sounds seem to not be played 3D spatialized when I open the doors. Only when others open them. So when others open the door (i.e. enemies) the door sounds play to the respective side depending on ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
That article is interesting to me esp. in regards to audio history. I'd be interested in testing a new version that implements upmixing based on it.

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
There's better ways to setup 5.1 so that it's better... In particular, I understand Dolby receivers include some kind of "steering" functionality to take a two-channel front stereo mix and pan the sounds in it between the front three speakers. Though I've found very little information regarding how ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
BTW I think a problem I have with game audio is that. Even though for example some have complained about the lack of standards in the cinema.. They are even worse in gaming as far as I'm concerned. Like even what method is used to convey dialog in games.... as I've implied before some games have ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
Then again I guess center channel usage is still rather debatable as I've found information on the AVS forums as below.. some people prefer a hard center.. others phantom.. I understand that not everyone agrees with any particular solution or setup. I found these particular comments which interested ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
I agree... options are good. TBH, IMHO those sort of options may have to be put into OpenAL-Soft. Which would probably be the ideal place since it'd affect more games than just gzdoom.

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
Well if it makes any difference in the matter.. IMHO I'd think something like bass management would help particularly in a situation like a "big mix" being sent to the small center. I know.. I've had setups like that before. Also, I'd rather have center action sent to the center and have my front ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
This sounds more like unpositioned sounds not being processed for surround and just being played through the main stereo channels. Unpositioned sounds are played by being panned in front. However, because of how poorly balanced 5.1 is (a number of speakers packed closely together in the front, and ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
This sounds more like unpositioned sounds not being processed for surround and just being played through the main stereo channels. Actually, this is what I'd consider proper setup but it's something Chris has to confirm. No I'm talking about positional sounds. Like monsters firing their weapons at ...

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
Bad use? This is across the board. I'm talking about how the sound engine works whether or not mods are being used. Also with vanilla doom as well.

Re: [since FModEX removal] Surround Sound Issues
I'm said friend and yes I have 5.1 and yes it's setup properly with the speakers placed properly. I spend a lot of time setting it up to spec and making sure everything is just right. The problem is NOT that the sound are NOT coming from the front at all. The problem is that.. previous versions of ...
