Maybe the following helps. In x86 build 251, when I map c1m2 I get the message in the log (in red, without crash): "Script error, "script00.lmp"line 1: Map does not define a namespace. Does GZDoom support MD5 (which is used by Doom 3 - for example in the demo which can be downloaded for free)?

Are you able to convert 3d models from Doom 3 to work in (G)Zdoom? They have been already extracted and work in doomsday: https://www.moddb.com/mods/doom-3-resou ... /jd3rp-v12.

The Wiki page http://zdoom.org/wiki/Compile_ZDoom_on_Windows for zdoom states "Visual Studio 2015 is only required for the development versions of ZDoom" . The most likely cause for overheating is dust in the fans or something else obstructing air flow. No idea how easy this would be to clean on a laptop, though. You are right, it was dust.
