I agree that they are a nice feature but I'd be surprised if they were included in the way you suggest. If it is to happen at all, I suspect that it would be done something like the dynamic lights and brightmaps where an optional file is distributed with GZDoom.

For a while now, I am using a custom gldefs.txt with glowing flats definitions for Doom, Heretic, Hexen and Strife. I was wondering if this might be added to GZDoom as a feature you can toggle from the ingame menu without having to use external (custom) files. Glowing flats can contribute greatly to the atmosphere of the game, and I am sure many people don't even know this feature exists.
