Since he's using polymost then you'll most likely beable to select the original render that doom used. You can do that in JFDuke3D after all. Hmm would there be any way to make the way you view the sprites selectable when using polymost though? I think JDoom could do something like that.

What about an option to use full rotational viewing, or the limited angle. I rather like the limited angle, but would just like the wonkiness gone.

The limited angle just doesn't feel realistic to me. I realize that what you're asking for is an option and not a forced feature, but to be perfectly honest, what sort of condition does Doomguy have to be in to be able to hold hundreds of guns and run 40 MPH but not be able to look more than 45 degrees up and down? It's as if his back suddenly gives out if he tries to look any further up.

Space marine boot camp? That just seems too complicated.

'When I say jump you say 'How far and it it an SR50?'"

Wheres the ring to that?

Maybe Randy can give us a status report. How many percent of the code have already been adjusted?

I'm REALLY looking forward to .97 now.. Custom weapons and, possibly, a FULL mouselook option? What this may do to my future projects I can only imagine...

Didn't the 45-degree limit come from heretic/hexen-style code that was put into ZDOOM when it was still young?

Who knows? Maybe a few years from now, ZDOOM will have 3d floors too. Can you imagine it? ZDOOM's current features + fully customizable weapons + 3d floors?

the freelook limit is because it's impossible to look straight up and down in a 2.5d environment. or if it is possible it'd be nothing but a huge bugged-out screen or something equally weird.. heh, i tried pointing a camera straight down once. looked, as i said, bugged out and weird. :thumb:

Hmm, some of my intermap cameras have pretty extreme angles. I hope this doesn't throw them too far off.

Shouldn't polymost give us the ability to make moving trams similar to those in Duke Nukem?
