Heretic 2 for ZDoom mod (Abandoned? Going to doom universe)

Projects that have specifically been abandoned or considered "dead" get moved here, so people will quit bumping them. If your project has wound up here and it should not be, contact a moderator to have it moved back to the land of the living.

Dang, it's not like I was trying to force you to quit or anything.

But if you want my two cents (you probably don't, but I don't care), I think AT LEAST a year is far more appropriate, for somebody who makes ms-paint solid color weapons and poor tutorials based on said efforts.

I'm dropping it because I'm working on some other stuff but no more apparently!
(Steam stopped updating for two days so I deleted it and attempted to reinstall it! I'll do the rest later when steam runs and I'm taking Unity lessons)

Honestly I don't think 3rd person is the best approach here. Reasons:

1) It's best to make sure you can see from the player character what weapon they are holding. This will require a lot of spritework, and A TON of ACS. This is the kind of thing experienced modders take months and months and months to accomplish. Go check out this thread to get an idea of how complicated that is.

2) The players character's sprite takes up a portion of the center screen. Bad news when you need to shoot with a lot of precision, or in any kind of level with "sniping" enemies. It would be better to have the player's sprite be offset to the left or right.

What type of file does Heretic 2 use (PAK, WAD etc)?
And if PAK, does it have the sprites?
If so, It's paused until further notice!
Anyway, does it?

Well, you could've used google and found out yourself. But as far as I know, it uses the Quake 2 engine, so try looking for info on editing that.
I would assume PK2s (but I could be wrong, don't really have quake 2 to know that), and it actually uses models. So I dunno about sprites.
Best you can do is either make model rips (they usually turn out like shit, don't bother), or making/finding doom style sprites that can be used.
