Simply ripping models from a high-res game like GOW is not going to look good in Doom. Special care has to be taken to make them look good at all. @WildWeasel: When you're talkin' about my spriting not being very good, are you talking about the ones in my Doom 3 WAD? If so, I didn't make those! I just brought together some of my favorite D3-D2 resources and decided to make levels for 'em. One more thing about that WAD - those sprites weren't rips. They were custom-made by others.
If you mean that the GOW sprite doesn't look very good, that's because I haven't really edited it in GIMP or PhotoShop (my trial expired again, argh!). Also, I'm not too sure that I can do a good job on the GIMP editing, yet. That's why an extra person or two to help me with just the sprites would be nice.
@Peoplethought: Have you read the first pages of this thread? That comment has been typed up so many times... Honestly, it doesn't really make sense to me (ever heard of Aliens TC or Half-Life Doom?). GOW's design and ideas are awesome, Doom's style is memorable (not to mention very cool); thus, a GOW WAD might not be such a bad idea. Plus, I've made it abundantly clear that I'll continue the project, anyway.
@Everyone: Has anybody read this post that has enough experience or Doom knowledge to help me with anything? I feel like no matter how much I do, it's just gonna be me. At that rate, this WAD'll never get done (which seems like a missed opportunity).

P.S: If I decide to hold off on the GIMP stuff, I'll probably just start workin' on the HammerBurst sprite soon. Maybe get some more outlines ready for anyone who wants to try working on 'em.

Specifically I was talking to DOOMERO - I'm assuming it was he that put together the model-rip-style Doom 3 weapon mod? i reckon it will look better than than models as a person has spent time on making the sprites than just taking a few screenshots

@Everyone: There's pretty much only one gripe I have about my sprite - I'm not too happy about the hair; it looks kinda like liquid (shape-wise). I might change that in a short while, but the colors will stay the same.

I'm not gonna have map-for-map level design. Some areas in my WAD might be similar to some in GOW, but most of my levels'll be in the style of it (surreal/urban/sometimes nature-related environments).
Don't get me wrong, though; the weapons, monsters, sounds, and overall design will be entirely based on the game.

I'm SO sorry if the multi-posting thing is annoying for you guys, but constant edits never seem to bring back attention (no matter how many times you edit the last post, the date of the post is the original one). Trust me, this is worth it

I'm gonna go ahead and show you Marcus's glorious hair, lol! You might also notice the recolored gun. As flashy as the previous colors were, they're not game-accurate (actually, quite a bit of the sprite isn't game-accurate; heh, heh
) and they don't seem to fit GOW.
Anyway, consider this the final stage in my MS Paint editing (I might return later for some minor modifications, if needed) for the Lancer. I'm takin' this baby to GIMP! Or PhotoShop, which I consider is much easier to use for this kinda thing.
Note that I (or anyone else who decides to join the team by then) will have to go back into Paint to make a chainsaw-attack
sprite set (for the alt-fire feature in ZDoom). Hopefully, all of the weapons that are made will have alternate melee attacks!

the reazon why the screenshots not looks with the real color, is for the doom limits with 256 colors is insufiecient...and in the beginnig the doom3 weapons mod will be for gzdoom ( using load raw the good quality of the color will be very cool) but no, when i test on gzdoom, appear a incredible lag, and result very unplayable...so, i change the plan and i make the doom3 weapons with ghaslty , przndoom and other friends for zdoom.

@Doomero: But didn't you say that you mod was with rips only? Are you going to make new weapons? One question: why? The current ones look great; the monsters are kinda weird.

oviusly are not 3d models or md2...i just only rip them , are pure frames...and make some diference about the attack, melee,death,etc...

Those still count as model rips. Those are the types of sprites that don't always turn out well. Actual 3D models could look great! D3onGZD ( the Doom 3 in GZDoom project) is a perfect example of this.

I'd like to handle most of the mapping. That's one of my favorite parts of makin' WADs. If you want, you can be secondary mapper (or someone to polish-off certain environments). We can see about that later, though. Right now, any help on the resources for the WAD would be greatly appreciated.
