Re: D4D - Released! (New Version Jul-19, pg1)

I was comparing Brutal Doom and D4D. I am not saying that Starter Pack is the most difficult wad or anything. From any "slaughterwads", I have experience only with a half of Hell Revealed and Scythe 2 each, but those I took on with Guncaster. Alien Vendetta or Back To Saturn X Episode 1 may be better mappacks to took on with D4D, actually...

We both have raised the issue already... but I agree. 30/50 shotgun shells is way too low. Ammo capacity for .50 FMJ may be a bit higher too, since CG is an ammo hog (triply so with Mobile Turret).
PS: Revenants can taste the SSG up their mouths.

The ammo cap might be ok for Doom 4 where there are not so many monsters around, especially on screen - it doesn't fit to the vanilla Doom. Amount of damage taken from monsters is too high, even in mediocre difficulty WADs like Starter Pack it gets really hard in first levels. To make the beginning easier, please think about dropping weapons from basic zombies.

Yes indeed. I'm currently investigating the issue with Graf right now.

You can keep track of progress here.

Although I'll be completely honest, I have NO IDEA what I'm doing in that regard. :P

You guys are seriously forgetting the chainsaw. Let me remind you that there is LOTS of chainsaw ammunition lying around in many of the maps.

Going chainsaw against ranged monsters that deal more damage than usual is a bad idea - against alone monsters, maybe. But here even that Shotgun guy replacement is deadly at point blank range.

Once I'll get home, I will play the hell out of this, but as Martinoz stated, some mapsets like Scythe have the thing about that, you finish certain amount of levels, last level you played kills you and takes away all of your weapons. USE THE CHAINSAW PEOPLE, HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT CANISTERS ARE MOSTLY LAYING AROUND WITH ROCKETS? *facepalm*

That E1M8-style kill exits are a problem with mapsets themselves, not with the mod. Personally I am not touching them without Ironblast ready.
As for the chainsaw... what maps you are talking about? I am not finding too much fuel.

Unfortunately, this mod does not seem to comply to ZDoom. Use the very latest GZDoom.

It is helpful weapon. But the problem is, it requires good dodging and checking the ammo often. Also it's mostly hard to use thanks to classic horde-trap based maps.

Although i got used to this!

Against lone monster perhaps or a small group (say 4) of weak monsters you can lure around the corner but against hordes? Hope you have a nice death from them hordes!

Actually the mod works with vid renderer but when you do that upgrade shop makes the game crash, if you guys can improve it, this mod would be good even though gzdoom features give the most features
