@hnsolo77: I agree with Tormentor. Surely the number one reason for doing anything like this is because you enjoy making maps, regardless of what other people may think? "It looks like Tormentor's style"... oh well the more the merrier. "It wasn't fun to play"... oh well it was fun to make! Enjay's BGPA mod is a good example of this -- he worked on it simply because he enjoyed working on it and he knew he would enjoy playing the end result, as would his friends. Yet he kindly released a playable project to the public, regardless of whether they welcomed it or not, praised it or criticised it... and I for one am grateful he did.

It really shouldn't matter what sort of rating it gets over at the Doomworld idgames archive. Sure, it is a nice bonus if people start praising you for your efforts, but I wouldn't let the critics demoralise or discourage your modding.

Why not? Come up with a tune that sounds Heretic-Y or HeXen-Y. and it will be used....

I'd pretty much prefer a Hereticky one. The Hexen ones are too soft and even similar to each other, and fit better for a puzzle game than the straight-up Heretic tunes. My gripes about original Heretic music is that it's way too short -- kinda like the Wolfenstein3d songs, perhaps even shorter.

They always have a point, despite their apparent rudeness. It's best if they're not annoyed by something imperfect. And I say this too: don't rush on ACS scripting, instead do it as late as possible. In the beginning, in ACS only put initialization stuff (setting coloured light levels or flat transforming...), or repeatable actions (like very complex common doors). Focus on conceptual grandness.

The configuration comes with the package itself.

EDIT: Oh no, crap, it was me that had it in the folder. xD

I can upload it, though. :)

Im no mapper but I wouldnt mind testing this in a year or two when everything is put together
I thouroughly enjoyed zpack and infact it really was one of my favorite episodes out there.
Definatly dont let anyone put any of you down, zpack was a great contribution from every person and Hpack
can only be the same or maybe even better, especially since this is one of those rare Heretic projects!
