I have a little question, will the Hell Apprentice appear in later episodes? He could work as a weaker Hell Smith which appears now and again, like the original one from Demon Eclipse.

@DaBowz: The Hellsmith and all the old Demon Eclipse "mid-boss" monsters were replaced with the Hellduke, Director, and Behemoth. They won't be making an appearance. I will remake the Deathknights, Archon of Hell, Diabolist and the other mid boss monsters for later projects, or just as a general sprite resource after HF v1 is released.

@Enjay: I scaled the Hellduke based on what the Cyberdemon looked like as I modeled. The proportions are as close to the original Cyberdemon as I can make it in 3D using a sprite reference. It might be the shading I added in manually that could be throwing it off. I will touch up the Hellduke after the first release, so I can fix the problems then, in addition to the extra grenade and melee attack frames. I think the shorter neck comes from it's longer face and the shoulder plating that pushes the shoulders up.

Finally got internet at my new place. Got a lot more productive without the distractions for a month.

Finished the Hellsmith, all coded and ready to go - this completes all the necessary monsters. Polished up some of the older DE:HellForged Edition weapons to be crisper and to make use of the new HF Palette. Made the gunflash of some of the weapons more Doom-like, since that's the feel I'm going for now. Only have the polish up the Wheel of Pain and add in some hands and all the weapons are finalized.

Started working on the last map for 1.0 release as well as some miscellaneous assets like the player mugs. Hoping to finish the next map within 3 weeks, but who knows how much free-time I'll get. Not going to be as big as the last map I made, but still on the large side. There are a large number of custom textures I'll need for this map, so it might take a bit. Will be finishing up the props over the next week. Will start on the Title pic tomorrow and hopefully get it done within a day or two. Again, will be based on amount of free-time.

Love the Hellsmith's Death animation. I reeeeally do! Wonderful and badass work right there! And i honestly can't wait for their own sound effects. Gonna be so overwhelming and sweet.

All the new monsters are a sight to behold, both as a fan of Doom and of pixel art in general. 0.8 already feels like a lost iD Software game in the Doom engine and a work of art, and I can't imagine how much more immersive 1.0 will feel. Kudos!

Give credit. No matter where they are. Credit where it's due is not something exclusive to ZDoom and its community, it should be common courtesy.
