I don't have much to show in terms of sprite work (or code, because I'm bad at that), but I have an idea I wanna throw out.
It's a mod based a little bit on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It would feature a typical weapons set and some custom monsters, but with a few major tweaks. You will have the choice of either playing male or female: male start with rifle, female starts with hand gun.
Monsters, cause the weapons could be confusing if you don't read this first:

Monsters would have weaknesses and strengths, and you can either do more damage or little damage based on what weapon you have.
Rarely, there will be a level where all the default monsters die, and new unique monsters spawn in there place, like were wolves, fish men, golems, etc.
Default monsters that I have going through my head are:
Skeleton
Zombie (a little sprite change might work)
Imp (a little sprite change might work)
Hell hound (most commonly referred to as a Demon)
Floating skull (Lost soul)
Wizard (or something to replace the Cacodemon)
Hypogriff (replaces Hell Knight, looks something like that lion knight with a shield I see all the time)
The goat brothers (Barons of Hell, two variants)
Chaos (looks something like a skeleton, only scarier)
Death (replaces Cyber Demon or Spider Mastermind, or could be a final boss with a custom map that replaces the Icon of Sin)
That's small, I know. I said weapon type because there are gonna be different versions of these weapons with different names, stats, and abilities.
Abilities include buffs, debuffs for monsters, and special projectiles, like:

Vampiric (applies to all weapon types) - HP per kill
Lightweight (applies to all weapon types) - Run faster and jump higher
Bigger mag (applies to all weapon types that reload) - increased ammo capacity
Ghostly (rifle, handgun, and nail gun) - penetrates through enemies
Fire breath shells - A special projectile for the Shotgun that spreads fire towards enemies
Fire Ball - A special projectile for the Super Shotgun that shoots a giant fireball that turns into a bunch of fire spots on the ground; shoot one at a time or both
Plasma (rifle) - A special projectile for the rifle that does area damage and does more damage to monsters with "plasma" as their weakness
Plasma (rocket launcher BFG replacement) - A special projectile for the rocket launcher that destroys mostly everything in the room
Silver bullets (rifle and handgun) - Does more damage to unholy enemies
Blessed nails (nailgun) - Does more damage to unholy enemies
Grenade - Arches
Bouncy grenade - Arches and bounces off walls until it hits an enemy
Cluster grenade - Arches and explodes into a bunch of smaller grenades
Little devil (handgun) - Can charge up and fire a big demonic bullet that does more damage
Muramasa (vampiric knife) - better range and radius, can turn monster blood into health
I would do most of this with the right coding help, but I don't have a computer that will work Slade without corrupting my files. I gotta get a laptop...
I like that idea, sadly i don't think i'm qualified to code it.
Idea: Catacombs Abyss mod for Heretic, levels remade with height differences but keeping the aesthetics of Catacombs Abyss, i have all the sprites and textures from the game.
This may be a strange idea, but you could make a modification based on the dream you had. If it turns out to be a fun mod, other people might want to help you further improve and develop it. There are lots of people on this forum that would be willing to help you with a project, so I say go for it.
I did not come to create mods, I came here because after having that dream I had, had happened to go to this forum and mention several experiences I had with that dream.
It's a thread where people are pitching ideas in order for others be inspired and develop on the idea. It's a fricking suggestion box.
Perhaps someone may work on the idea, but don't expect them to work on it the day after you posted it. If that's all you want to do in the forum, bring a lot of patience in this case.

Nobody is interested in making modifications based off of my ideas either. No biggie... I just learned the stuff myself and moved on... picking up other ideas along the way. Soon enough, I'll get to the point where I'll be able to make stuff based off of my own ideas.

I'm sorry that we weren't able to help you. The fact is, every member of this forum has their own life, their own ideas and projects, their own things to do, and we are not guaranteed to be able to bend to someone else's whims and ideas.
If I might offer some advice, learning to mod for ZDoom is actually not extremely difficult; I wrote several tutorials about actor/weapon logic here.
I do not want to create mods, I just came here to contribute ideas and nothing else, so that in the future someone is interested in making a modification based on the ideas that I provide.
A mod based off Tron would be an awesome idea! Something along the lines of a sort of "demake" of Tron 2.0, maybe. Imagine what the Doom engine can do with it!

I actually had something in mind to do this but the sprite work needed for it was pretty difficult, especially since the only decent sprite work for TRON is the GBA TRON 2.0, KillerApp, and a mobile phone game that was never released.
Would need to make everything from scratch but I would be on-board doing something with it.
