Good indepth.

since CH is very closely tied to this mod will there be a rarity higher than legendary (Relic)? A rarity with effects that's probably best of the best?

i was thinking having a very rare Effect Swapper having a chance to spawn, probably when killing a boss or just a really really rare spawn rate, allowing you to exchange effects between guns, or transfer an effect to another gun. i think it'd fit here, considering there's tons of times i'd want an effect to be on another gun than the one it came one.

I like the idea of that too.

Also, for my current save I'm having a hard time to decide which to keep: Irradiated RL or Heroic RL. Would the latter be more better to keep around for CH bosses or will Irradiated do the same or much better?

It's not closely tied at all, it's just compatible.
There are no plans to add another rarity type.

That honestly sounds like nightmare fuel to me. Just thinking about what would be required... aaaaaa

I'm not particularly interested in such a thing anyway, otherwise you'll just snag an effect you really want and jam it onto the most op thing it'd work on.

Using an RL on bosses, heh. Bosses are immune to splash damage.

The Heroic will do much much more damage to the bosses, but the Irradiated RL is one of the most powerful weapons against non-boss enemies soooooo... Up to you.

I don't think it's worth it to ever use a RL on bosses. I'd go with the irradiated one and get a bfg or plasma rifle to go vs bosses (even the base ones).

I found the rl to be surprisingly useful against bosses with a good effect actually, and not with just the heroic one.

Unless you're talking about kinetic or something, that is probably wrong. What effect are you talking about?

I remember cluster and hunting rl being pretty effective killing them compared to a regular plasma rifle at least

I think the non cyberdemon or mastermind bosses on CH aren't resistant to splash damage. Are they?

They aren't. Some of them used to be, but not anymore. The rule of thumb is, if it drops 3 weapons it's classified as a boss and is immune to splash. Otherwise, it's not classified as a boss and isn't immune to splash unless special cased.

you also know it's a boss because a special demonic laughter plays when a boss monster is revealed. i also think they get immune to pain when bosses turn that? anyway, a boss, i think, is classified by the fact its active sound is played directly to the players, not played from the monster's active position.

and i wasn't talking about killing those bosses with rocket-launchers. you'd be surprised how FAST you can take down a cyberdemon and spider mastermind with a Cluster Rocket Launcher. plus, it makes them flinch more often than the plasma rifle. but yes, plasma rifle and BFG are the best ways to take care of them, unless you have like a Hunting SSG.

No, it comes from them. I'm not sure why you would think that.

Unless you are talking about the laughter sound rather than the active sound, in which case still no, it comes from them.

well, the active sound comes from them, but the sound is perceived directly by the player, rather than it being heard from where the monster is positioned, isn't it? and it's the same with the laughter sound?

In the end, the weapons are still just like playing vanilla.
