Porting to Android
Re: Porting to Android
Any new development on this? The next version of Android will support USB controllers, and many android devices (tablets, etc) are getting powerful enough to run ZDoom really well.
Re: Porting to Android
(2), and try to port the zdoom code with openal and not with fmod. That works on dingux =D

There has not been a single post in this thread since last year. So no, I don't think there's any progress.swoy45 wrote:there any progress?

Re: Porting to Android
Now that I recently got my Gear VR virtual reality headset, I'm suddenly very interested in how much would be required to port gz3doom to Android. I probably don't have enough time to do it myself (by a factor of ten), but I'd like to start learning what would be required. Has anyone got an active android project in the zdoom ecosystem today?

Re: Porting to Android
Yes; go look up Beloko's D-Touch, which includes a version of GZDoom.

Thanks for the info. Weirdly, it appears that Beloko just got kicked off the Google Play store just hours ago.wildweasel wrote:Yes; go look up Beloko's D-Touch, which includes a version of GZDoom.

They could just rename the app and resubmit it using someone else. Though it'd take a bit of work to redesign the look of the app. Kinda sucks since I use d-touch quite a bit
. Not too sure how I could install it on my galaxy s5 with out rooting my tablet to get the app off of it

Re: Porting to Android
I made a request for the source and my request was acknowledged. I have the source to that port from what I can tell.
I'm still reviewing the code and trying to make sure it compiles for my phone. If I have any luck I will inform you guys on another thread etc.
