Re: [WIP][NSFW?] Attack of the Anatomically Correct Charmanders!
that charmander model has an error in it.
it has no flame on its tail. the flame being an indicator of how health it is.
NO FLAME MEANS ITS DEAD!
...
...
wait a second, is it the attack of the Anatomically Correct Undead Charmanders?
that would make this that much cooler actually...

Re: [WIP][NSFW?] Attack of the Anatomically Correct Charmanders!
Absolutely right! That's why the flames are spawned ingame. They are a separate thing that you can put out with the fire extinguisher, and if it goes underwater it is extinguished as well. There's no undead Charmanders (sorry), although they do get increasingly demon possessed the further you go on (I'll show a pic if you like).
I won't pretend to know how different species and even types can reproduce in Pokémon hey. As you wouldn't be seeing anything reproduce in this game it's a little trivial though.
Well see if you can share the prize with Enjay then!Snarboo wrote:I was actually going to make the same argument that Enjay did, but I didn't feel it worth making. The fact that Pokemon is a fictional game world where the rules of anatomy might be different was the other reason.I seem to remember that the games allow any two Pokemon to breed for example.

And here I thought I had a bizarre mod idea already.
Re: [WIP][NSFW?] Attack of the Anatomically Correct Charmanders!
This is so far beyond "wat".
Also:
[pokenerd]
Charmanders (and their evolved forms) don't die if their tail flame goes out. It's the other way around; Their flame being an indicator of their health, it stops burning when they die. If it is extinguished, but otherwise healthy, it will re-ignite as soon as possible. Or so I've heard.[/pokenerd]

I recall there was an episode in the original pokémon series in which Ash encountered a charmander in heavy rain and they seemed to act like if the rain could actually put out the fire, otherwise you could say the rain "damages charmanders"Ethril wrote:[pokenerd]

BTW I think jokewads are best developed secretly so people don't expect anything.

I recall the same episode so it's possible that the rain was deadly, although there's more than enough room for it to have been changed later. I think that I'm pretty safe though as "fire being not immune to foam" could possibly fall under the anatomically correct heading.Dancso wrote: I recall there was an episode in the original pokémon series in which Ash encountered a charmander in heavy rain and they seemed to act like if the rain could actually put out the fire, otherwise you could say the rain "damages charmanders"Anyways I saw that ages ago so i might be wrong
You know that I agree with you! I wanted to surprise everyone with a great game.Dancso wrote:BTW I think jokewads are best developed secretly so people don't expect anything.

No voluteeners yet though, but hey people are starting to get over the weirdness... I think.

I thought the anime and manga had a different continuity than the games? It's possible that the episode in question wasn't true to the games, where a Charmander's tail can be put out but not kill it outright. Then again, I'm not an authority on Pokemon.

When in doubt, develop your own canon.

I am speaking about the project as a whole...I'm not knocking it.It kinda just slapped me in the face when I saw it,I was caught completely off guard lol.Kilkakon wrote:Are you referring to the whole idea or just the last post? At any rate the project has been devised completely without mind-addling substances. I was like "It must be good and it must be crazy. Something that will make people go 'wtf is this let's play it' and then keep them playing two hours later!".

Sure, not a problem, I just was thinking you could have been replying to the world map. Thanks for your reassurances.

IMHO the ONLY reliable information is from the games themselves, they are canon, anything else is an AU. EDIT - as far as the Anime/manga, the only one i might actually view would be the manga, as i hear that its not all super hyper mega kidified like the show.Snarboo wrote:I thought the anime and manga had a different continuity than the games? ive pulled this from Fire Red's Pokedex *in front of me right now actually*
as for the volunteer bit, ill beta test this, since i know some people who probably would not only think this is hilarious, but would also like to co-op/Death Match with it.From the time it is born, a flame burns at the tip of its tail. Its life would end if the flame were to go out.

Good enough for me!hnsolo77 wrote:From the time it is born, a flame burns at the tip of its tail. Its life would end if the flame were to go out.
Well if you PM me your email or MSN I'll be more than happy to welcome you as our first volunteer.

So much. I don't know why, but its pissing me off. I'm not sure if its the fact that it doesn't make sense but thinks it does, or that anyone would bother putting so much effort and work into something like this.Ethril wrote:This is so far beyond "wat".

Which... brings me to my next question....
I swear to god if there's Charmander-Impse crossovers I'm going to spontaneously combust in a barf shower.
