Insanity's Edge Complete
Re: Insanity's Edge Complete
Incredible wad. Maze is just fine as it is. Platforming is hard as hell, but you cant get lost. And the boss fight is insane, is it even possible to kill him with given ammo?

Re: Insanity's Edge Complete
The boss is possible to kill with the ammo given, you just have to be careful what and where you shoot. Anyway, I am going to upload a 1.1 soon, which improves the final boss battle, by making the area larger and more ammo and health. Also, the jumping bit now has candles in the correct direction, so follow them to not get lost. I did some other minor bugfixes like some glitchy texture alignments, but nothing else major you should know about.

Loved it. I played on Killer and thought the boss battle was difficult but very possible with ammo given. I think I fell off the edge and died more than anything else. As for the jumping maze outside, I thought that was fun.

From what I played (I couldn't figure out what I had to do after unlocking the Red doors) it was awesome.

There should be 3 red key doors, one in the red cavern place where you got the red key, which has teleporters inside it which take you to the other red key doors, which you then get the blue skull inside them. Im not sure what you did wrong but thats how to do it.
If you were waiting for the doors to open to get out, you have to kill the baron that teleports in first.

I went through the Cavern Red door, opened the red-door, and went in. All there was a power-up and a window that showed me the blue-key, The baron that was supposed to spawn in never came.StarScream wrote:There should be 3 red key doors, one in the red cavern place where you got the red key, which has teleporters inside it which take you to the other red key doors, which you then get the blue skull inside them. I couldn't get to the Blue-key, I might have missed a switch somewhere or something, but it was behind a Window I couldn't get past.

Spoiler:I have no idea what is wrong. You don't have to press any switches or anything, you just need the red key.
Re: Insanity's Edge Complete
This is what I call a high quality wad. Good pacing, nice battles, good challenge that's also fair.. I was actually pretty surprised when I found out there was a Level 2.
It didn't dawn on me that I had not participate in a boss fight yet. The boss was fun, although.. Well I don't really want to spoil anything, but..

Re: Insanity's Edge Complete
Is anyone else having this same problem?
Also what version of zdoom/gzdoom were you using?
If possible, could you post a descriptive screenshot or video of why you can't get the key? Even a save game file would do. You say that the corridors are there, why don't you just go through them and get the key?
Sorry if I sound offensive or anything, but I am completly puzzled about this one

Re: Insanity's Edge Complete
I got one word for this one.......insane.
I have to say this will more than likely be in one of my favorites book for the rest of the time to come.
The detail level was absolutlely sick, the gameplay was crazy (in a good way) and the scripting and puzzles, music, anything
else I can think of was perfect to me. I liked how the difficulties seemed to make the enemies harder than in any other wad I played. I couldnt beat the hardest so I had to drop down but the enemies seemed much more violent and did more damage than normal. This really makes you act more careful than you normally would.
The level design was really good. It was beautiful to look at and made it actually look like you were in a place called "Insanitys edge". The music fit well and sorta gave you a warning of what was to come. The boss fight = sexy, glad you used my favorite enemy in there and I really hope there is a sequel to this sometime in the future. Keep up the wonderful work scarscream, you came along way from darkness falls although I liked that one as well. About the ble skullkey, I never had a problem with that area. I went through and grabbed it without any problem whatsoever.
