It's okay Captain J, we love you too much to get angry at you.

Well, things of this kind happens when people stops taking the subject as a "internet" thing and takes it to personal case.
Oh of course. It's all about egos.
I was talking with my dad about this---in the tech sector, there's a lack of role models due to the way the industry works---the old guard's knowledge isn't directly relevant to the new guard's job, so it tends to get ignored.
Instead, people try to merely imitate successful people, down to their attitude---for example, everyone sees that Steve Jobs was successful, so they figure if they both get as smart (and as difficult to work with) as he was, they'll be as successful as he was. This leads people to prize egomania over getting results and perfecting themselves.
We're down here in the hobby area of the tech sector, but I see no reason why the same idea shouldn't apply here.
Unrelatedly: Why did cem26 get a tempban while the guy who tried to doxx Tormentor's password seems to have gotten no ban? I'd think the latter would deserve SOME sort of ban---cem26 was just being foolish, the doxxer was being actively malicious.
