If you look closely at the pink photo version, you can see where the thumb tendon is supposed to go.

At that angle, you'd only see the index finger tendon at the very top edge.

It doesn't look human anyways, maybe it's a creature who doesn't have tendons in the right place?

Not everything needs proper anatomy.

You can't see the thumb tendon in such a pose (what you instead see is me going batshit crazy with the shading), so heh. Still unsure what I'd do about the others though.

Here's a rough example of where they should be

Also the thumb and the skin between the thumb and index finger should be a lot shorter, or angled like it is in the original photo version, as the thumb in general also looks very odd. If you do point the thumb down again, though, note that the thumb tendon would then be at the TOP of the thumb, not near the bottom.


I'm no artist, these are just my observations from looking at my own hand in the same pose.

I understand that this production style is popular, but "requires" is the wrong word entirely. "Over-edited production values" are not at all what I desire as a listener, and this paradigm is hardly the gold standard for all metal: plenty of bands would rather their albums sound like Paranoid or Butchered at Birth or Transilvanian Hunger or etc.

You have valid points there. I was just speaking from a commercial/business point of view.

The mod I was talking about some time ago. And we decided on a new palette simply because doom's palette is ass.

I happen to think that while it might not be the most efficient thing ever, especially when you're trying to make something new, for what it does I happen to really like the palette myself.
