I have troubles with converting like 100 .wav-files into .ogg-files with FreeAudioConverter right now. But it always tells me that I should check preset paramters, but what the hell does that mean? Which paramters?

I haven't installed the Unofficial Skyrim Patch because arthmoor & co. go beyond "let's fix bugs" and into "let's change the game into what I think it should be".

Wait, what?

There was another modder who was trying to associate himself with the project, but his "fixes" are redundant, pointless, drastic, or downright destructive. He also refuses to respond any contact from them, so they're left to saying "yeah, we have nothing to do with that guy".

Arthmoor has a ton of "how I think it should be" mods, which he releases separately, because that's how you're supposed to do it.

I've browsed through the changelogs before. Never seen anything I would describe as something other than fixing a broken thing, though the grammar/spelling corrections can be amusingly pedantic. (And yet they typically don't touch book text because that's considered lore stuff.)

In conclusion: Wait, what?

Would anyone here know about writing drivers? I've got some INFs that don't work with 64 bit windows.

Gez: That's surprising, I've always considered Arthmoor's work to be of the highest quality and never would have expected him to introduce non-fixes into his patch projects. I haven't been keeping up with the latest news but I'll have to investigate this. If that is indeed true, that would be quite disappointing.

It's been a while so I forgot most of the examples that made me decide not to bother. The only one I remember on the top of my head was that it added new voice acting which had... controversial... quality, to the point that patches to patch appeared to remove annoying changes.

I've literally worked the whole day on a single bossfight. And now, it WORKS. Most of the part.

well, i've applied the unofficial patch, and so far, it seems to work. i was able to clear out Avanchnzel no problem and, even if my follower fell through the grate-floor in the last room, she respawned next to me when i left the place.

Great! I have two questions for you though:

1. Did you use any mod manager, if so which one?
2. Are you using the high resolution DLC? If so, you should download the unofficial High Resolution patch if you haven't.

i did, because the readme instructed that it's highly recommended that you change the load order, so that the patch loads in the correct order: i used Nexus Mod Manager for this task.
i've seen the high res DLC, but have not downloaded it, because my computer currently cannot handle anything else other than the game on Low and windowed settings: this should change once i get my video card RMA'd. i didn't know about the patch for said DLC, however, so i'll take a look at it when i can use it.

Very well. I recommend you migrate to Mod Organizer, but only for Skyrim, concerning the possible case that you have other Bethesda games. At other times, keep Nexus Mod Manager. Mod Organizer isn't that important if you're only using the unofficial patches, but it helps in all cases.

Watch this, too, if you get Mod Organizer.
