I recall being against having a "sniper" rifle which is totally inappropriate for Doom.

This is more of a handy way to emergency-one-shot a cacodemon at the cost of a few seconds' disorientation and probably a hitpoint or five. (and, if we're counting, about $100 of ammo) :D

Actually, if you watch the whole video of those clips, there's a guy who doesn't flinch, and barely even budges when he fires it... That's pretty hardcore.

I had this idea for a Strife mod, well, I have two ideas.

#1
Role Reversal; you play as an Acolyte, working for The Order, gunning down rebels, and managing to obtain pieces of the Sigil somehow. The overall aim is to ensure the human race is a minority and The Order is dominant.

#2
Strife: A Prelude; you play as a soldier [Not part of The Front] a week before 'The Disaster'. You get to explore places before their 'renovation' by The Order, this includes the Borderlands and other places [It will probably be much larger]. Honestly, I don't know what you would do in terms of action, I guess you could take down insane peasants who think 'something bad is going to happen'. Maybe you could live through the first stages of the comet striking the planet. I don't know, either way, this is my favourite idea.

I even pasted spaceball helmets on a set of stormtrooper sprites ages ago, shame I lost them. :x

ANYWAY BACK ON TOPIC Zdoom mod with ironsights. Got something that kinda works on my hard drive though I did have to resort to increasing the spread when you're not using the sights...

That's the last time I make a comment on OMINOUS LATIN CHORUS-style music while half asleep. The fact that the intro parts are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT should've tipped me off. :stuppor:

LOL and I was about to start seriously wondering if it was possible for people to be tune-blind the way some people can't recognize faces or voices...

...and it turns out it is. :oops:


Another idea: A Killing Floor-style game, "Cleanup Crew", which involves a bunch of kids who have to clean up the house - by which they must wield an array of various implements (duster, scrubber, mop, rag, Windex, a vacuum BFG) and survive waves of dust bunnies, mysterious brown stains, old food containers with stuff growing in them before eventually having to catch the dog and/or cat who's tracking in mud and possibly leaving "gifts" in inconvenient places.

Why not: It's way too much work for what, in gameplay, would pretty much be a KF clone with more melee options.

In my defense, I was, as stated, half asleep, and I hadn't heard either of the songs in months. Can't say anything about the others, though. :V

Enough about that, though.
I've actually got this one pretty neat idea that I've been contemplating for a while, but I'm tired and don't have the patience to write it all out at the moment. I'll get around to it eventually. Probably.
