I want to make a full IWAD based entirely around oldschool 2.5D play with full autoaim and no real need to lead targets on a vertically different plane, that can be enjoyed by a casual player using only basic keyboard controls, with a minimal HUD that shows what little it shows in big user-friendly letters.
Why? So I can play on my netbook while on the move when it's impracticable to put the computer on a stable flat surface or use the mouse.
No idea as to content though. ^^;

Yes, but I think the coolest idea would be minecraft doom. Could be done with models in gzdoom. Will probably cripple a supercomputer though. One giant sector, couple million models...

I just discovered the potential for a quirk-dependent odd, creepy, crazy or otherwise unusual mod:
Throwing out player starts just to see that my DB 2 config was ready I accidentally produced a duplicate of player 1 start. I entered the test, suddenly discovering an extra me. It didn't do anything, so I hit it, and it hurt. Me. I hit it some more, and I died.
I couldn't claim control of the extra actor with an enter script, but maybe I could do it with some (hacky) decorate.
Twitch and hack: You are your own worst enemy.
Alternate: Protect the hostages. You are the hostages.
It seems a little unfeasible actually to do it, primarily because it looks like engine-abuse.
EDIT: Also, with the possible exception of skin support (if PLAY is not valid for monsters), it might be a lot easier to produce something similar by other means. The quirk just gave me the idea.

That "engine-abuse" there is commonly called a voodoo doll. They've been around since the days of doom.exe and are actually used for all sorts of special effects. Engine bug? Yes. Useful engine bug? Double yes.

Nah, voodoo dolls are a well-documented feature by now, so they're no longer considered a hack.
