Now, the only thing I'd need is a wall climbing ability... As in jump at a wall, and you'll stick to it, but kinda slowly slide down it, but be able to keep jumping up it. Then I can make a perfect Megaman X mod. Or I could use that for a Megaman Zero mod type dealy... heh...

Yup. I'll no doubt change that up a bit with the next revision, though it's sort of amusing as it is right now.

@BetaSword: It's definitely doable, but I'll have to mess with some things to keep the controls relatively simple.

Anyways, I think I'm on to a way of using two sets of weapon sprites at once! I may or may not have a five-hour block of Nothing Time at work today, so I'll see if I can use that to get my idea into code before I forget it. The trouble will come up with punching. It's easy enough to hang onto a gun and give something the Mighty Boot ala Duke, but striking out with the fists is another thing entirely. Then again, it could end up working like in Devil May Cry with easy and fast transitions between melee attacks and ranged weapons.

Hmmmmmmm.

If you can get some kind of dual weapons feature in here, perhaps Randy will implement it, and then Haloguns2.wad will emerge in it's full and illustrious glory.

Wrong, because dragons and villains from christianity have not, will not or may not ever meet. Dragons are mythological from fairy tales about knights and captured princesses. Satan is allegedly the boss of the place you go to if you pick your nose.

So, moving away from the potential flamewar -- no pun intended --

UPDATE!

+ Added crouching!
+ Added the Throw attack

+ Used some of wildweasel's sounds
= Fixed the lack of a health recovery limit.
+ Also, you now recover health twice as fast when crouched.
= Messed with the weapon sprite movement a bit to be more violent
= Changed some impact mechanics
= Fixed the muzzle flash bug?

NEW ATTACKS
- Throw -
Crouch + Melee
Grab your opponent, turn, and throw them a ludicrous distance.

- Slide -
Forward + Crouch + Melee
Deliver a slide tackle to kick your enemy's feet out from beneath him

TO DO
= Figure out the damn weapon sprites
= Player animations?
= Wall climbing per BetaSword's request
- Remove the ability to run up a wall forever
I spent most of today messing with the player weapon sprites, and discovered that it'll be a royal pain. However, there IS the excellent Decorate++, so why ignore it? The only problem is this will make it essentially impossible to quickly switch between weapons and close combat, which defeats the purpose of ZDoomFu. I'm sure there's a way to fix that, but we'll see.

Ninja edit: Fixed the muzzle flash bug as stated below. I think.

How do you set the button for crouching?

Bind a key to +movedown. I just realized I forgot to change the menus accordingly.

As for the gun flashes, they were working before I uploaded the latest version -- maybe I broke something and forgot. I'll check and have the fix up tomorrow if that's the case.

Okay, I think I fixed the flash problem. I'm not sure why it wasn't appearing in the first place, since all I did was recompile the thing and now it works fine. Kind of unsettling.

So, then, time to concentrate on college stuff for a bit.
