The problem is that someone shouldn't be so lazy to ask a question when the answer is right in front of them....

I have a hard time with people who ask questions that require less than 5 minutes of research. Not that I haven't been guilty of something stupid like that before, but come on this is just plain sad...

Come on, Ix, you know I'd help people with valid questions in a heart beat. This is a clear-cut case of PEBKAC, and I doubt the poster has enough brains to know how to get back to this website to check for replies anyway. I'm sure he'll be watching the 4 other cross-posts to various religious forums, though.

It's great how we got all these manuals, texts and instructions, each of which takes all of 5 seconds to THOROUGHLY read, screaming out "read me or you're fucked!" and the majority never reads any of it. :|

And then they blame you for making stuff that (supposedly) sucks... Thx for reminding me that, even though most people in the world can read/write, they never use those skills. Why the hell even bother educating those who don't give a shit? :\ You know they won't use it anyway..

I had a case similar to this, where some people were too dumb/ignorant to read one of my wad files' texts (it was Claustrophobia) and so wound up spoiling their gameplay experience and saying I had the worst/hardest gameplay ever.

hm ^o.ov; I dunno if he reeeally deserved ALL this.. I mean, obviously, it was a bit ditzy to not notice the bright yellow notice about this.. or maybe he doesn't know what BPP stands for.. and then report it as a bug.. but I know I've been completely oblivious to things at time too o.o; and now he might think the entire ZDoom community consists of elitist assholes o.o;

then again he could just be an idiot, I suppose.

I don't have anything against abc_sk2002. I think he might have made an honest mistake. He may have noticed he can't change the screen mode (without reading the entire screen), immediately minimized zdoom and quickly went to these forums.

Either way, when I was a newbie, I didn't post stuff unless I spent at least 5-10 minutes (usually 30+ minutes) trying to solve it and was really stumped. I don't simply give up and let others do things for me.

/Why the hell am I making this thread longer... Owell. :D

"MEDIC!"

I dunno Virgil, but I'll help.

I've been having the noob week of a lifetime. First I needed help with the -iwad command, then I destroyed the multiplayer wiki page. Then I was too stoop to fix it back and called for a medic (btw. thanks again sarge, UV), and then I needed some explaining about the noteleport projectile flag (thanks again eevee, HW), and I was just about to run in and post again... but I thought since I'd done more than my fair share of forum-assing (yes, it's a verb) this week, I'd try a little harder to find my answer myself; It took me all of 2 mins to find the answer to my question on the networking forum!

Then, once I had realized how stupid I had been, I went back and looked at the 1.22 zdoom.txt--answer was right there, too! The point is, if someone having a week like mine could find the answer in three minutes, anyone should be able to spend a few minutes to find the easy answers.

ABC, if you're reading this far, know that we weren't trying to be mean to you. And, if you stick around long enough, you'll get to see what it's like from the other side of things. Don't feel bad, and don't be afraid to post again... but make sure you do so over in general. Preferably in passing on one of the already existing threads that has turned into a flame war, or a weather discussion. Then you can get your answers quickly, and you're not imposing (as much) on the zdoom forum, and its community. :-)

Addendum (and totally off topic): Those of you who choose to windows update, if you haven't in a few days, you might want to. That's all.

Christ, they made the word verbose in my honor.... the end.

Well, of course YOUR post was funny, and we all EXPECT you to flame people, newbies or not.

God, now I have to stick MY avatar in MY jumping map so I can make some quotes that refer to this thread..
