More multiplayer crashing... >_<

Post by Nash »

When traveling between levels in a hub after loading a saved multiplayer game, there is a small chance for the game to crash. Reproducing this is a little difficult because I can only attach the debugger to 1 process, and I'm testing this by running 4 instances of GZDoom on my machine, but I got the debugger to catch it twice, crashing at 2 different places...

I know, this is a fork, but I have disabled most ZScript stuff and the game/data is pretty much in an almost vanilla state. I can do another debug run with GZDoom of course but that'll take longer to setup. I'm posting this here in case I can get some early help.

What I'd like to know is if this happens because of user data or if it's something that I can even reproduce in GZDoom. I don't really know how to use the debugger, it's as good as alien language to me. :S

You can attach debugger in the single instance of Visual Studio to as many processes as you want. Debug -> Attach to process... (Ctrl + Alt + P) allows to select multiple processes at once.
The problem is this will hardly reveal the reason of the crash. This can be pretty much anything. I would try to reproduce it with IWADs only, Doom and then Hexen.
