ZDL help - PLAYPAL not found!

I'm not sure if I have ZDL setup right.

I always get the following error trying to startup unofficial WAD's like Alien Vendetta, 2002 Doom Oddyssey, etc:

W_GetNumForName: PLAYPAL not found!

I suspect IWAD corruption.

Sounds like you're not loading them along with an IWAD. IWADs, like Doom.wad, Doom2.wad, Hexen.wad, etc. contain the game's palette along with the base sprites, textures, and whatnot that are needed to run it. Downloaded addons like Alien Vendetta are PWADs, meaning patch wads, which have to be loaded alongside the appropriate IWAD. (Most, but not all, tend to be for Doom2.wad. Generally the included text file will specify which IWAD to use with them. Alien Vendetta is for Doom2.wad, 2002: ADO is for Doom.wad.)
