[Music Pack] Heretic SC-55 Music Pack released
SC-55 Music Pack - available in OGG, FLAC, and MP3 (metadata loop tags are supported in all but the MP3 pack) At long last I've finally completed the Heretic music pack. This one was a little more involved because some of the tracks contained so many instruments and note data that it maxed out the ...

Re: FLAC Metadata loop tags no longer being observed?
Strange. Even Winamp and VLC both recognize it as metadata. Is that because they probably use FMod? Why was FMod removed anyway? (I'm sure it was necessary or favourable, I'm just curious)

Re: FLAC Metadata loop tags no longer being observed?
I used a command line tool simply called Tag for batch processing. I used it for all my music packs. I also used it for the OGG packs, which work fine. Those FLAC files work fine with EDuke32, Duke3D Megaton Edition, Chocolate Doom, ECWolf (for Super Noah's Ark 3D), and, again, earlier versions of ...

Re: FLAC Metadata loop tags no longer being observed?
You can download the full pack at my website at http://sc55.duke4.net/games.php#doom. Here's DE1M1 on its own, though, for a quick reference.

FLAC Metadata loop tags no longer being observed?
I got a PM from a user who was trying to use my SC-55 music pack with Doom (specifically the FLAC pack) and he notified me that the metadata loop tags are no longer observed so there is no longer any seamless looping playback. In my files I have the music fade out at the end (for personal listening ...

Re: [Music Pack] Final Doom/TNT SC-55 Music Pack released!
I love the MT-32 as well, but its instrument list ( at the end of this page ) is different from the General MIDI one; for example, the harpsichord from Into Sandy's City would be rendered as an electric piano while the electric guitars would turn into bass and brass; inversely brass instruments ...

Re: [Music Pack] Final Doom/TNT SC-55 Music Pack released!
It's certainly down to personal taste whether you prefer one version over another. But the point is that this is what Doom sounded like in 1993 if you had the best of the best hardware available at the time. That wasn't possible for a lot of people back then, but it's something that can be ...

Re: [Music Pack] Final Doom/TNT SC-55 Music Pack released!
Someone else just showed me this last night! I wasn't aware it existed. I'll throw it on my list and get to it sometime after Heretic and Hexen.

Re: [Music Pack] Final Doom/TNT SC-55 Music Pack released!
I see I can now access the forums at home! Thank you to the admins for helping me out there! :) Slight update. I wanted to do something about Plutonia because it has a unique tracklist but it just reuses music from Doom and Doom 2. I didn't want to make new packs and upload what I essentially ...

[Music Pack] Final Doom/TNT SC-55 Music Pack released!
I can't access this forum from home as my ISP seems to be blacklisted (I live in the middle of nowhere out of town and use a wireless LTE network ISP), so I had to post from work which uses a more popular and widely-used ISP in town instead. http://sc55.duke4.net/images/doomtnt.png Music pack ...

Re: Doom 2 music pack LOOP_END tag problem
Sorry but this isn't obvious to me. According to Wikipedia, all these codecs support 48 kHz sample rate. Of course, files can be slightly bigger in case of FLAC. For lossy formats this is irrelevant because you are specifying bitrates in one way or another (fixed, variable, average, etc). Yes ...

Re: Doom 2 music pack LOOP_END tag problem
Ok, so I made a rather embarrassing mistake. The problem was that I was working with recordings of the original tracks at a 48Khz sampling rate in my DAW. I downsampled them to 44.1Khz for FLAC/OGG/MP3, obviously. But the sample values I was using for the LOOP_START and LOOP_END tags were based on ...

Re: Doom 2 music pack LOOP_END tag problem
Here's a couple tracks that don't loop properly in my testings. Though, so far it's been so many that I don't believe any of the tracks loop properly. As I said, only my Doom/Ultimate Doom tracks seem to work correctly. Would this be somehow related specifically to the Doom2.wad as opposed to Doom ...
