It's a bit of a work in progress. Graf moved the DECORATE out of zdoom.pk3 and into the IWAD and made some other changes, some slight bugs in a couple of maps were fixed. I currently have my grubby little hands on it fixing a few more issues. It's not a complete overhaul or anything like it, but there are a few nasty little map and resource bugs that may as well be cleaned up. I'm not going to bother with other, non gameplay breaking problems (eg all those moving doortracks). I'm not aware of anything of significance that now needs to be fixed so I've got a pretty good version sitting here on my HD. I will upload it to the Chex forums a little later on (I'm just holding fire in case anyone spots anything else for me to change) and hopefully a revised release will follow.

From what I've seen so far, the latest revisions of Zdoom and GZdoom handle the new IWAD very well so there is no need for it to depend on a custom exe anymore.

My bad. I guess I simply wasn't shooting bad guys near enough to the wall.

The original Chex3.wad is hopeless. It totally depends on the modified zdoom.pk3 so loading it won't work.

Regarding the green blood, that should work. At least it did when I played it before uploading.

OK, cool. Was it just set to halt on the incompatible chex3.wad or was it any wad that, for some reason, was incompatible?

Anyway, I tracked down your fixed Chex3 from the Chex forum and have played a few levels. My own build of Zdoom autodetected it just fine and, so far, it seems to be playing well enough too. :) I was a little disappointed to see no green "blood" decals on the wall, but I notice that the original build didn't use decals at all either so I guess it's fair enough.

Ok, changed it. Now this WAD doesn't get listed at all.

I know this isn't so much a bug as a feature, but I wasn't quite sure where else to put this.

My problem is that I wonder if the feature might be a touch over enthusiastic? I dumped chex3.wad from the recent chex3 release into my Zdoom directory and Zdoom refuses to start.

Surely Zdoom flat-out refusing to start merely because there is a one WAD in its directory that doesn't agree with its checks (not chex ;) ) for valid IWADs is a bit much? There are plenty of other IWADs in the directory that it could start with. Would it not be better to merely ignore the WAD or put up an invalid WAD message in the IWAD selction dialogue rather than have Zdoom refuse to start?
