I think Isle means actual particles, not small actors that act as particles... the latter, while looking very good, takes up much more system resources and can't be used to form a continuous stream behind a quickly moving object.

You can always make particles via Decorate (like me :P). They're easy to make, and in some situations they look beautiful.

And indeed, via clever 3D usage you can simulate floor splats / decals.

I think I see the point about realistic blood splats... right now this bright red cloud just appears out of nowhere and then fades away.

I remember posting a fake screenshot a while back with blood particles actually spurting out of a zombie's neck where the bullet hit, but I can't seem to find it right now.

Part of his post did dictate about blood splats and such on the floor, which, sadly by either ZDoom or Doom status, is impossible as is. (Except through clever usage of 3d models.)

Zdoom can use a new particle effect ? to make effect more realistic like blood or explosion , More blood particle see the blood on the floor like Nashgore
make explosion more intense and more and more .... :shock:
