I agree, it is one of the coolest weapons in Doom. Mind you, it has been done before (the tin whistle in "Knight and Knave of Swords") and since (the ancients' weapon in Stargate S7/S8, so I have been told). Somebody even did a hack of the BFG to simulate it in DOOM and DOOM2, one for EDGE (Valkyries) and ISTR Herian or Herian2 had one as well.

You ruined it! :(

by GeeDougg » Thu Sep 16, 2004 3:04 pm

Then you just stand above a ledge where they can't reach you, or go behind a wal or smoething, and take your sweet sweet time blowing them to shreds (as compassionately as possible, of course!).

What if there are 1000 zombies?

by Daniel » Thu Sep 16, 2004 1:28 pm

Oh man, don't you have compassion with Zombies? Use a shotgun, not BFG...

Well I used the BFG, it makes them go much much much farther.

Heh. That would be a fun mod. You start on a platform with imps teleporting in, and you have to berserk-punch the imps on to little platforms that appear and such. That would be 1337!

by Ixnatifual » Fri Sep 10, 2004 11:15 am

Heh, I've been having fun plopping imps into a lava lake from a big pyramid. You can make them fly incredibly far sometimes :D

"Behind" in this case being the opposite direction from that you were facing when you pressed the trigger.

One more great thing about BFG is that the tracers will fire from your corpse in case you get fragged just after firing the BFG but before the ball detonates. So, in DM, don't be too quick to hit the respawn key if someone drops you right after you fire a BFG...they often have a surprise coming if they don't flee the area or get behind your corpse!

Of course: Lots of damage -> lots of thrust. The maximum damage from one berserk punch is 200!

The berserk pack seems to knock monsters around the most. You can hurl imps through the air with a punch like in superhero/Matrix movies.

Of course they do because thrust is related to damage. If it is only that it'd be 'not a bug'. If it was a result of an overflow it'd be a duplicate. By personal guess would be 'not a bug'.

I think I recall enemies flying a lot even under vanilla Doom when using the BFG.

So this is either not a bug or yet another duplicate of something already fixed ( http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?t=2082 )
