[4.12.2] Some maps starting as black and white garbage

Forum rules
Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!

If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.

We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

vid_preferbackend does indeed show a '0'.

Would you type into console "vid_preferbackend" and see what's the result? If it's "0" (= OpenGL), it could be the same as in here:

I took a quick look at Doom2.wad and found this happening in at least MAP01-MAP04 in gzdoom 4.12.2
The only difference is that opening the console fixes it
(Sorry for the triple post)

I just made a video about this unusual glitch:

[4.12.2] Some maps starting as black and white garbage

I found that some of the maps in my in-progress SPZ1 will initially start as a black/white mess when loaded from the command line. Hitting escape will always fix this though. I really don't know what to make of this:
Black/White
Black/White
Also my PC specs:
  • CPU - Intel Core i3 - 6100U, 2 Physical CPUs w/ Hyper-Threading
  • GFX - Intel HD Graphics 520
  • RAM - 4GB
  • VRAM - 1GB
