This was changed recently (with the release of 4.12.1 actually) so that the pixels are stretched to their real size before rotation, and then squashed back to the level's aspect ratio after the rotation. The main reason for this was because +FORCEXYBILLBOARD sprites got squashed when viewing directly under or above them.
That being said, I do not see anything anomalous about the demo you provided. Do you have any custom pixel stretching or aspect ratio options set?
