this problem also effects both hexen and heretic.

The problem is resolution dependent and most obvious at a width that is a multiple of 320.

It displays OK for me. I'm running ti at 4:3 aspect ratio with 5:3 off and at a resolution of 1152 x 864.

Ok, I hadn't thought of that, and you are probably very correct.

Even if its trivial, a bug is a bug and therefor deserves fixing.
(basically I'm trying to say that the comment about who actualy uses the compatability menu was just a rather unserious side thought. Maybe I should consider using sarcasm tags in the future).

It doesn't matter. The menu is there and it should display properly. Some options may also be useful for Strife if there were custom maps (like wallrunning or disabling the Boom door light effect.)

You probably find all the resolutions using the 4:3 ratio will work just fine... (not that I've tested each)
but, uh, who ever uses the compatability menu in Strife anyways?
