Pretty much what wildweasel said.

The best way to handle this is if the two authors come together and collaborate on a single project with a common goal. Alternatively, the upscaler guy can try and get permission from the widescreen patch author and try and modify those resources as an optional distribution.

I don't think this is any of GZDoom's business, as it's clearly a mod conflict. One or the other needs to change, and given the response the author(s) already gave you, it's more likely you're running into a game of "mod chicken" where nobody wants to be the one to turn away.

Hexen mod support

Hello,

There are some great mods for the original Hexen/expansion that allow for true widescreen (16:9) support along with high resolution (4x upscaled) spites and textures.

Widescreen patch:

HD textures:
https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/1 ... ture-pack/

The problem is when running the two together there is a conflict and I was told by the creator that the only way to properly fix the issue would be to have the GZDoom developers adapt the code to solve the issue.

Here are examples of the current problems I am talking about:

HD textures WITHOUT widescreen patch:

HD textures WITH widescreen patch:

HD Textures WITH widescreen patch but WITHOUT HUD/weapon textures:

Clearly the bottom image is how things should be displayed, however with the HD HUD/weapons textures of the first image.

If this could be addressed it would essentially allow everyone that plays on modern hardware with the most common 1920x1080 (16:9) resolution the best Hexen experience possible while still staying true to vanilla game play.

Any chance to have this resolved in the future?

Cheers.
