Try setting the monster's speed to negative? I think that does the trick at least with A_Chase because they always look in the direction they're moving.

I've got a monster that has an explosive weapon and a much weaker non-explosive option that they use within a certain range. I want them to try to maximize the distance from their target so that they can use the explosive weapon, but to keep attacking with the other weapon until they can make it out to that farther range.

Can we get an option to allow use of +frightened without implying a sudden huge drop in the attack rate?
