Ok, you knew it was coming eventually - having seen the various pros and cons in the thread here and in this thread at DW - so here it is:

Do you think Skulltag's ConsoleCommand special should be implemented in ZDoom?

You forgot the "No, Randy isn't going to do it." option.

Yes, but it's use must be tightly controlled.

It's like you have a system() in your libc that automagically setuids you.

As mentioned at DW, a dmflags(int newflags) would be better.

I'd say yes but with tight control. Used correctly this can be very powerful and even be used to make it easier to add new commands to ACS. Potentially dangerous use must be prohibited at all costs, however.

Just disable all use of commands such as "bind *" or "unbindall" and some things that change gameplay settings, display properties, screen resolution, etc.

couldnt ZDoom create a backup of the .ini and save the cvars the wad sets into the save file and restore the .ini upon exit? that way if somebody "unbindall"s you you can just push alt+f4 and your settings would be restored...

i say yes with controls. this could be both useful and safe at the same time.

It's a incredibly simple function to add, as G_DoCommand just needs to be used. So if he hasn't added it already, I doubt he will.
