Reelism + Gameplay mod compatibility?

Reelism 2 is one of the most fun mods I've ever played, but its general inability to play nice with other gameplay mods like byoc and necrodoom is slowly driving me crazy! I've tried extracting the pk3 to load the level wads individually and adding Invasion Simulator in attempt to make "Diet Reelism 2" but the map will simply not load, it just boots me to doom II level one. are there any workarounds to get the maps and the enemies but just the default doom guns to be compatible with a wider variety of gameplay mods? Probably not, but I just wanted to check!
