[SERIOUS] Should I port over my ROBLOX Sonic-inspired platformer game to UZDoom?
Hello, for the last year and a half I've been developing my ROBLOX Sonic-inspired game called "Monter's Saga". Right now it is still in demo/sandbox state, as there are still many things I wish to implement. But the main thing is I no longer wish to develop the game on ROBLOX anymore with the way the platform is crumbling apart. Recently they announced you would need a subscription of 5$ a month to be able to publish games to all ages, and also more age verification slop, and I do not want to hand over my biometric data to them. I do not think this platform will make it another 2 years. So now I'm kinda stuck in a weird limbo. I have the game and I already know what I want to add to it and how the development process is gonna go. But i don't know where to start remaking the game. I wanted to do it in Godot originally, but I soon realized that UZDoom was right there, and I have lots of experience with the engine, about 5 years of making mods for the Doom engine. And I know it's possible to make indie games in it. But the main issue is the lack of documentation and specific tutorials regarding ZScript, so because of that recreating the movement and moveset from the original game one-to-one in this engine would be very difficult, and same applies to the other stuff in the game. But I know it's possible. I could go to Godot but that would end up requiring me to learn Blender too. I'm honestly really confused as to what to do with the game now. I wanna make it in another engine but I can't pick between UZDoom and Godot. I do not wanna make it in Unity as it's too different from ROBLOX Studio, which I am very familiar with, in comparison to Godot. Please help!
