[released] Eisenfaust Legacy - Valentines Edition released!

Post by doomjedi »

Happy upcoming Valentine's Day! 8-)
"Team Raycast" proudly presents the all-female "Valentine's Edition" of Eisenfaust: Legacy!

https://www.moddb.com/mods/operation-ei ... y-released

This new mega edition features not less than 13 (!) all new maps by myself and LinuxWolf, all featuring pistol start.
With our legendary mappers not being available/active for this project, someone needed to take things into their own hands, so myself and LinuxWolf stepped in to revive and finish this 2023 attempt.
My maps are quite challenging   , with from-first-second action (and mostly lacking secrets), but all are beatable, and so I hope they'll be a fun suffering to blast through. I hope it will surely be for veteran players who have already mastered the original Eisenfaust: Legacy and want a matching challenge.
LinuxWolf's maps are more puzzle-like maps (quite creative, with some special coding done specifically for said maps to introduce neat puzzles), so hopefully overall our maps will supply you with tons of desired action, mixed with a selection of some clever puzzles.

Some special features were coded/changed for this release, including weapon/enemy/boss rebalances, sewer waters/floors that now slow the player down and such stuff. We even fixed one coding bug from original Legacy

I remember playing Eisenfaust Origins and Legacy during my high school years, I can't believe this same great team of devs is still making content for this game... i know what i'll be doing this weekend :D

Thank you so much for the support! :)
Hope your weekend was indeed fun and you enjoyed the game - and the challenge

sort of "I grew up on your mods" in a way  - both such a nice feeling and yet making me feel old at the same time :)
But that's life, it's okay
hope you're doing good in life as a grownup 8-)
And that was indeed our fear - from a known modding team that its mods are known to be a must-play on release - that this release will meet a new generation for whom "Team Raycast" is just a word. And our legacy lost in time.
And in some way - it happened as your kind comment was the only feedback on zDoom forum so far and it got only one stream so far and by a person who knows our older mods.
And overall this release (released 3 days before Valentines with big expectation for streamers to pick it up in time) - was quite a disappointment so far sadly (despite over 250 downloads), which has a bit of demotivational factor.
But what can I expect after taking relatively long break?

Well, yes, after a long break to be honest - we went back to make another special edition (and who knows - maybe even more), without our classic mappers we took map making into our own hands (I did make one map for previous special Legacy Edition as well) and I have to admit - I enjoyed the process.

P. S. ...I would recommend you to play "Operation Eisenfaust Origins Remastered", if you love the original release - you'll love this remastered version.
Sure you can play our later Batman and Green Arrow mods too, wonderful creations.
