Dealing with motivation block for Doom mapping
I don't know where to really put this on the forum, but I need help. I have been dealing with SEVERE motivation block when it comes to doom mapping. I just can't bring myself to even open UDB anymore. I can't even remember when it started, but I know it's been persistent for a good while now and it's only getting worse. The issue with it is that I still want to map, but I just have no ideas or motivation for anything.

Doesn't work for everyone but what works for me is to start doing motivation blocked thing. Then for me brain switches into problem solving mode instead of contemplating what to do it has a problem to solve almost immediately.
I've heard that allocating time frame for it works for some people because it builds a habit. Like... You don't really want to do something because you're motivation blocked but its a time frame that was allocated for this activity so might as well start/continue something. And as soon as you're in its problem solving time.

Its a trick made by your brain to not do anything. In case of Doom mapping just open the builder and start drawing lines and placing things.
Then it shuld be like:"Actually, this techbase that you're working on - that's not what I want, I want a cave system here", "There should be an ambush here, this segment just not right without ambush", "Those textures that you've just scrolled by would do a great doomcute microwave, we're placing microwave on this map", "Player can just run away from this fight. Slowly descending elevator it is then!", etc. Give it problems to solve.
