[REQUEST] 3d/md3 ZOMBIES!

Post by parttimedork »

Hello all, I'm working on a little horror game that utilizes 3d assets (will be posted on this forum at some point). However, I'm currently using Realm667's "zombie fodder" as my zombies, and am looking for a 3d modeled zombie enemy i can use instead. I have basic knowledge on zscript/decorate lumps & know how to use Gelle Sebasztian's md3 tool (barely) just in case, but would prefer to just drop in a pk3 & move on with level design. Thanks, cheers!

You might try looking in to some of the model packs for the Doomsday engine, or Willem Sitters' models for Risen3D. They won't be set up for ZDoom, but they have the potential to be via a MODELDEF lump. In fact, I think someone has already done it, but I can't find it ATM.

Thanks man! i'll take a look into it, and see if I can learn how to convert them in. Are there any resources out there for making enemy animation states in 3d?

There are people who are far more adept at it than I am, and who can advise you on more advanced software. However, I do most of my model animating using Maverick Model 3D. It's a relatively simple editor for low poly models. However, that simplicity does mean that it isn't as feature rich as something like Blender (like, nowhere near as rich), but it usually does what I want very nicely, and I use it a lot.
