HELP REQUEST - Looking for a "Modeling guy" for my project

Post by WojtTheDoomer2K »

I deeply apologize if this topic does not fit this board. I have no clue where to put this, honestly. I am also deeply sorry if these sorts of posts are against the forum rules. If asking such things is against the rules, I apologize. If it is against the rules, please remove the post but don't ban me - I have many future projects up my sleeve you might enjoy and I don't want to lose this community, especially after how supportive it was when I released my first true TC Megawad in form of Reds Over World.

The Basic Question

I am currently working on a project, which requires plenty of specific 3D Models to appear in the game. To be precise, several Valve Source engine games and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series models, mostly relating to static vehicles. And I think I need a "modeling guy" for this. Someone who is very knowledgable about 3D Modeling, converting models to DOOM format, etc.

I cannot do it myself - with Reds Over World, I managed to convert a few S.T.A.L.K.E.R. models into MD3, and I am capable of modifying existing MD3 models, but other than that, my modeling skills are really bad. I know nothing about it, and it was honestly a fluke I even managed to convert the few S.T.A.L.K.E.R. models I did.

Who am I looking for?

I am looking for a person which has knowledge about converting 3D models into DOOM's MD3 and MD2 formats. I know it's possible, as BOA featured models from the HL2 mod called Black Mesa, a Counter Strike Source modelpack exists and I use it for the project, and well, I managed to get a few S.T.A.L.K.E.R. models in-game, so I know what I plan is possible, at least. And it's nothing fancy, I just want to have several HL2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. models as static, non-functioning props, nothing fancy like those BOA movable tanks or something.

Specifics:

1. I am asking for help with adding static, non-functioning basic props to the project, so you don't have to be worried about having to program drivable cars, tanks with spinning turrets, etc. Just basic, zero function, static props.

2. The project the models will be used in is currently top-secret, and I don't want to reveal it to people until I feel like it's time. However, the helping person will be credited fully in the project's credits. You can be 100% assured the project will not be cancelled - your work will not be in vain. The project is currently roughly 50% finished, and it's gone too far and im too pleased with it for it to be cancelled.

3. The specific models I desire to convert come from two-three Source engine games and the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, so you have to have experience in extracting such models and converting them to DOOM's format (As I mentioned, it is possible, if you wonder, as BOA featured Black Mesa models, and the project already features Source game models, taken from the Counter Strike Source MD3 model pack).

4. There will be no deadline or time limit. You can feel free to do the modelling for the project whenever you want, and for how long you want.

5. If you can only do the Source models, or only do the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. models, hit me up anyway - if there will be two people, each responsible for a different type of models, both will be credited. Be advised, however, that the Source models I need are more numerous, as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. models only consist of three vehicles or so.

If you think you are up to the task, please contact me via the private messaging system on the forum - I want to keep my Discord private, and I have no other way to talk with people. I may not respond the same day you send me the message.

Thanks in advance for everyone who decided to read all this, hope to hear from you! Best wishes, Wojtek.
