## The Story So Far
---
***TO BIG BAD WOLF.
DE LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD.
ELIMINATE HITLER. IMPERATIVE. COMPLETE MISSION WITHIN 24 HOURS. OUT.***
You were Lieutenant William Joseph "BJ" Blazkowicz, the allies' Spy-Guy
extraordinaire and famous-wife-haver. You've escaped castle dungeons, recovered
stolen artifacts, and fought the literal devil. You've been tasked with the
Ultimate Challenge of eliminating der Fuhrer himself to tip the balance of the
war for good, but the might of his army proved too great for you. While
scouring the barracks for some floor kibble, you catch one in the neck from an
eager, brightly-clad officer. "Spion!" In your last moments, you curse the OSA
for sending you in with naught but a pistol and a flimsy old Ka-Bar before it
all goes black.
You awaken suddenly and cold air fills your lungs. You're alive? It seems that
you've been given another chance at life, but like everything in your life on
Earth, you have to fight like Hell for it. It comes to you in a brilliant
flash of light, a farmhouse in Mesquite, a loving family, a wife, two daughters;
you just need to make it to the other side. For now, you've been whipped back
and forth through time, the souls of the damned given shape once more, fully
armed and vengeful; "Death Incarnate". Twisting and turning corridors, sprawling
mazes of steel and stone; a swirling dreamscape of Nazi iconography. Familiar,
yet strange. If you make it out the other side, you'll give past-life regression
therapists something to write a hell of a book about. If not, at least you'll
have gone out in a blaze of glory. Twice.
Your Tools
---
---
### Knife (...Knife):
A very decently sized blade that is designed to carve and tear into personnel,
plate armor or not. Great in a pinch, say, like discreetly sticking a lonely
guard in the back. This thing got you out of dungeons, bunkers, and castles and
it'll sure as Hell get you out of... here.
### Pistol (Walther 92):
The standardest-issue of all standard-issue small arms. An Italian-German
collaboration, it is an improvement on the P38 design, most notably
featuring a fatter grip to accomodate double-stacked magazines.
It's trusty, small, and easy to conceal. Hey, it beats just having a knife by a
long shot. A short shot, maybe.
### Machine gun (Rüstleicht GmbH Maschinenpistole 9mm):
The left arm of the German infantry. Developed by young aircraft engineer
Eugen Steiner, this thing sprays bullets like aerosol. Not so great with ranged
targets, but great for close encounters. Useful for locking any Nazi into a
cha-cha dance, rendering them incapable of returning fire. However, it
unfortunately can't hit the broad side of an aircraft carrier.
### Rifle (Bombenkarabiner Kurz 45):
A marksman's dream. Tooled to fire high velocity 8mm cartridges, this is a
bona fide boomstick. Cuts through plywood like air and steel plate like
steamed carrots. Now, what kind of vile things would it do to tender Nazi flesh?
Great against ranged targets, but close targets might get the drop on you before
you can cycle a round.
### Paratrooper rifle (Fallschirmjägersturmgewehr FSTG-45):
This hot little number is Jerry's answer to your old Browning Auto. Using
all-new technology developed by, again, the young Steiner, this weapon fires in
three round bursts, throwing a volley of three rounds down range in a horizontal
spread pattern. Hell of a heavy trigger, though. Ideal for medium-range
encounters, could be a little cumbersome in tight areas, however.
### Chaingun (GP-VG MK1):
A weapon so cool, so classified, that its name bears no reference to a
manufacturer, a year, or some kind of little-known German musical instrument.
Issued to only a handful of troops and the biggest, baddest Nazis in the
Reich, this is less like Hitler's Buzzsaw and more like his Wood-Mizer.
Excellent for cutting through large groups and clearing rooms, but mind that
windup time.
### Bazooka (Panzerfaust 900):
A fat metal tube designed to fire anti-tank warheads. Coloquially referred to by
the Yanks as "Bazooka" and by the Jerries as "Raketenpanzerabwehrfaust 900",
it's the Wunderwaffe of armored warfare. Its new rockets can travel up to about
900m, hence the name, though not many have really found a target quite that far
to corroborate that impressive figure. Why don't you give it a try? While not
designed to be anti-personnel, the warhead somehow detonates on targets as soft
as Nazis. Deals critical damage to single targets and dispersing groups of
targets at even long ranges. Just... don't blow yourself up.
### Flamethrower (Kleinflammenwerfer 45):
The little brother of the more prolific Flammenwerfer 41, it's all the
fire-breathing ire of its bigger counterpart in a slightly smaller package. The
fuel tank is side-mounted, easy to refill, and contains 30 seconds-worth of
sustained fire when a backup tank is connected. This is the bane of pillbox
squads everywhere and is possibly the most inhumane accessory of destruction in
your arsenal. Perfect for "doing unto others", so to speak. Fantastic for groups
of enemies. Like the Bazooka, it's hard to... justify... close range use.
Spoiler:gameplay video kindly recorded by JoeyTD/BeardedDoomguy
I feel pretty bad because I teased this a long time ago, but classically, it fell victim to scope creep. I absolutely still have a desire to work on this, but a lot of it needs to be tightened and reduced in scope. many folks have expressed a desire to play this, and I don't want to keep it from them or the rest of the community anymore, even if it's broken and buggy. I'm hoping that through making this public, it will
let the people who were eagerly awaiting this finally experience the mod in some part and the vision I had for it
help offer me more perspective
help motivate me to keep working on it
i thank you all so much for understanding how something as seemingly straightforward as developing a mod can quickly become a battle against the self and personal expectations!
