Player particles in DM

Post by Hirogen2 »

When an -altdeath (+deathmatch 2) game is started in 2.0.47i, a white-ish fountain is spawned over the player. Is there any more information about it, intention, purpose?

Maybe it's a secret hidden feature. If no details emerge, call Apogee and say "Aardwolf."

I know in SkullTag when someone disconnects there's red particles. It's probably just a feature.

I'm pretty sure Randy wrote the function that makes those particles. IIRC it's a ZDoom thing.

I believe that's an effect symbolizing respawn invulnerability. It's just like the flickering player in Skulltag. In Skulltag, I actually added a "respawn protection effect" option, where you can switch between ZDoom's, Skulltag's, or none. It's in Display Options IIRC.
