"Zero Winter"

Is a Super advanced 3D Gameplay-Mod with a camera in "Third-Person".
for the Source port GZDoom and the new UZDoom


In the game, we play as -00081 Jarelina Loendy-
A posthuman Android citizen who wants to join the branch of interstellar Gems explorers.

To graduate, she must first complete many virtual simulations and training. where she learns to dominate her "Quasar" superpowers and use the many Explorer Weapons.

all in the unique company of her instructor and sister:

Useful for a creator, but not for a customer

There are also several "timelines" that need to be
carefully constructed so as not to be contradictory.



I'm gradually interpreting and converting all Stories and Timelines
to make it suitable for a reader/viewer/player.

This "Woman like Machine" is the new and DEFINITIVE Protagonist of this project: -Jarelina-

Her "Daring Design" is a sign of the change of mentality
that I had to make to continue with this project.

Everything is going excellent now that I have the 100% of control over my Protagonist.



With this done, There is no turning back.....
Interesting news are in the way. :mrgreen:

This is what I've been building these past few months.

The "Trinity Slashers" Swords
and its mechanical backpack support.





The idea of a "Mech Backpack"
holding several Swords is interesting in the
Gundam Astray: Red Dragon
(where I get inspiration for Melee-Mode)
but it has some problems when she uses it:
  • the backpack is too big to carry everywere.
  • is too fragile to carry only for combat.
  • It's a little bulky, taking away elegance.
  • these metal wings are going to bother the Shoulder-Aim Mode.
  • Thrusters are No required as she can always float.
The Backpack probably get a rebuilt
or even can be discarded.
but at least, I wanted to give it a mention.



Ideas like these have been coming and going.
They seem so cool, but building them is difficult,
and when implementing them,
everything always has to be adjusted
to maintain overall coherence.

The project is alive, but it's moving very, VERY slowly. :3:

That looks INSANE. Shared it on my social media already. This has to blow op. This looks so fantastic..can't wait to try it with an awesome map and some quake 2 monsters or so.. or do you plan creating a total conversion at some point?

It has a lot of potential I can say. Feels like it will be mainly fast-pace battle like Hellrider, also Character looks great.Maybe in the futuer it will have more action and even voicelines.I don't see much third-person mods so often. Overall,keep it up.

the Voice lines are guaranteed

I can't wait to code everything I have planned and bring it to life, but.....
Again, building the 3D models is what is strongly slows me down.

Okay.
It's been a long time since the last status report.

I had planned to discreetly return to the forums
with a download link for my Gameplay Mod
but because of the unexpected rupture
in the GZDoom Devs (and the birth of "UZDoom") :shock:
I have to share my thoughts of it
and at the same time,
give a development report:
These past few months,
I've been writing and go deeply
into the Lore of this game.
also creating weapons 3D models.
(3D is really, REALLY time-consuming)

with the current panorama,
that was the right decision.
Basically because if I had made any progress,
all of it would have become obsolete
and discarded in vain.

Until now, I was working with ".md3" model format,
but given the immense advantages that the ".iqm"
3D skeleton format brings
(and hasn't stopped improving),
it would be foolish not to migrate to that 3D Model format.
And due to the change in the leadership
of the new Ultimate ZDoom SourcePort,
perhaps even more advanced features will appear.

with that said,
all development for this project
will be carried over to the new UZDoom Engine.



Now, talking about this game itself,
the huge progress and brainstorming in Lore
had a significant impact on all the previously
features presented here.
So, another major restructuring of this Topic is coming.

It's time for a status report:


to summarize a lot of history,
in 2025 I dedicated all of my attention and development time
to my GameplayMod for Zandronum, "Starlight Weapons."

The most notable highlights was the modeling
of three futuristic weapons for close view:

However, after a more serious and objective analysis,
I decided to postpone the revival development of that Zandronum Mod
in order to prioritize this UZDoom/GZDoom Third-Person Shooter Game.



With this priority set, this year 2026 started strong
and I made many changes and adjustments
to the 3D model of "00081 Jarelina".

This is because when I attempting to create animations, her Cloth Simulation
and several other components had many errors,
so I worked on adjusting all of them.

Furthermore, its design must had to emphasize her "Post-Human" Nature,
so I adjusted the 3D mesh architecture and completely recreated
the whole set of UVMaps and textures from scratch.
as usual, there's no rush to have a playable game.
the technical performance and Visual Art Style are far more important.
For these reasons, I will only update this forum when there is something relevant to share.

Before I Finish...
I'm going to reveal that I found a way to include Aircrafts in this project:

This feature was strongly thrusted for the announcement of Ace Combat 8
because of the years of estrangement I've had to flightsims,
I was accumulating a lot of nostalgia for flying things.....

That was triggered, and only was necessary expand the small relevance of the already existing
"Fighter Jets" within my Story/Lore, and the result is quite impressive.

searching the most suitable plane for each character It's really fascinating.
Everything perfectly fits together. 8-)
