OK, like the title says, this isn't really a bug, but a similar situation has been addressed with monster kill counting.
If, during a level, you use a script to spawn items that form part of the item count, then pick them up, it is possible to get more than 100% items on the tally screen at the end.
Seeing as how enemies that are spawned into a map during run time now get added to the kill count, could something similar be done for items?
