GZDoom 4.1.0 crash in Confinement 256

Post by splash27 »

GZDoom 4.1.0 crashes at the map CONF55: Inner Demons of Confinement 256 https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/level ... ds/conf256

Just about 20 seconds of gameplay is enough to cause a crash. Maybe it is a map problem, but I am still curious what's wrong and if it can be fixed. It's supposed that map worked with previous versions of GZDoom.

I attached a CrashReport.

Does it still crash when you use the latest devbuild?

Yes, it works on the last dev build. I still experience a huge frame rate drop when looking at the south direction of the map, but I think this is the map problem.

Try to restart GZDoom. Doesn't help? Try to restart it again. (I don't know why but it helps in my case.)

The map is broken, it has floor and ceiling reflections plus a stray mirror line which combined makes the renderer go haywire on portal recursions. This causes severe slow downs and even crashes, particularly on Vulkan.
