Pressing esc to open main menu does not work

During gameplay when i press esc key to pause the game the menu opens briefly and closes automatically tested on both opengl and vulcan renderers and on mulitiple wads such as ultimate doom,doom2,heretic it also affects the console commands. Due to the issue i cant make a demo.

I forgot to say that i am using gzdoom 4.10.0

system specs is a amd ryzen 7 cant remember the exact model gpu is nvidia geforce gtx 1060 6 gigs vram ram is 16 gigs corsair motherboard asus cant remember the exact model. os is windows 10 home. gzdoom is 4.10.0. mods are doom,doom2,heretic.i am loading it as a drag and drop and zdl.i have deleted and reinstalled gzdoom.

Happened to me once some time ago. In my case it was my keyboard, which was on JP layout without me realizing it. It got solved after changing back to my regular one.
